Please read these guidelines carefully before submitting to Prothots. Articles that do not meet the minimum requirements below are declined without individual editorial feedback, in the interest of your time and ours.
Content Requirements
- Original and Unpublished. Content must not appear anywhere else on the internet at the time of submission. We run plagiarism checks on every draft before publication.
- Minimum Word Count. 1,200 words minimum. 2,000 or more words are strongly preferred and given priority. In depth guides and strategy articles should aim for 2,000 to 3,000 words.
- Structured Formatting. Use clear H2 and H3 headings to divide sections. Avoid long unbroken blocks of text. Paragraphs should be 3 to 5 sentences maximum.
- Original Visuals. At least one original image is required, such as a screenshot, infographic, or custom graphic. Stock photos unrelated to the game or topic will not be accepted.
- Supporting Data and Examples. Back up claims with real in-game data, gameplay evidence, or concrete examples wherever possible.
- Accurate and Current. Content must reflect the current version of the game being covered. Articles describing outdated mechanics or deprecated content are rejected.
SEO and Technical Requirements
- Natural Keyword Usage. Include target keywords naturally within headings and body copy. Keyword stuffing is not accepted and conflicts with Google's spam policies.
- Readability. Write for both beginner and intermediate players. Explain game specific terminology the first time it appears, since not every reader knows every title's jargon.
- Internal Links. Include 2 to 3 internal links to relevant Prothots pages. Our editorial team may also add internal links during review where useful.
- One Outbound Link. You may include one dofollow link back to your own site or profile. It must sit contextually within the article body, not in the introduction or conclusion.
- Meta Details. Where relevant, suggest a meta title and a meta description under 160 characters to support on page SEO.
- Header Hierarchy. Follow a logical heading structure. The H1 is reserved for the article title, with H2 and H3 used to organize the subsections beneath it.
- Clean URL Slug. Suggest a short, descriptive URL slug using lowercase words separated by hyphens, with the target keyword included.
Image and Media Requirements
- File Format. Submit images as WebP or JPG. PNG is only accepted for graphics that specifically require transparency.
- File Size. Keep every image under 100KB wherever possible, to support fast page load and strong Core Web Vitals performance.
- Minimum Dimensions. Images should be at least 800px wide, with a clear, non-blurry resolution.
- Descriptive File Names. Name image files descriptively using the target keyword, for example write-for-us-gaming-guide.webp, rather than generic names like image1.jpg.
