Sausage Flip

Sausage Flip is a physics-based skill game where you launch a floppy sausage through short obstacle courses and try to reach the finish without falling away from the platforms. You aim by pulling backward and then releasing, so the challenge comes from judging both direction and power. I find shorter, controlled launches much more reliable than trying to clear several obstacles with one oversized jump.

About Sausage Flip

The goal is to guide the sausage from its starting position to the end of each obstacle course.

Stages use spinning objects, soft blocks, moving platforms and other unusual elements that change how the sausage lands or rebounds. The game also lets the sausage grab onto certain surfaces before you prepare the next launch.

Latest Sausage Flip Update

The current Poki browser edition lists January 2023 as its latest browser update after a December 2022 release.

The official Android edition is maintained separately and was updated on July 29, 2026. Google Play currently lists more than 10 million downloads.

Sausage Flip Gameplay

Every move begins by choosing an angle.

Pull backward with the mouse or finger to aim, then release to launch the sausage. Once it lands or catches onto another object, you repeat the same process until you reach the finish.

Controls

  • Drag backward: Set direction and launch strength
  • Release: Flip or jump toward the next surface
  • Mouse: Desktop aiming
  • Touch: Phone and tablet aiming

These controls are confirmed by both the current browser listing and the official mobile editions.

The W3C Pointer Events specification explains how modern web interfaces can support mouse and touchscreen input through a common interaction model.

Sausage Flip Physics

The sausage rotates while travelling through the air.

Landing position therefore matters as much as reaching the next object. A launch can cover the right distance but still fail if the sausage approaches the platform at an awkward angle.

I usually reduce the power slightly when the next landing area is small. That gives the physics less momentum to manage after contact.

Sausage Flip Obstacles

Levels include several kinds of moving or reactive objects.

The current browser description specifically mentions:

  • Spinning wheels
  • Bouncy platforms
  • Rocket cars
  • Soft blocks
  • Moving contraptions

These objects make each stage more than a simple straight jump toward the finish.

Sticking To Objects

The sausage can stick to certain surfaces.

That gives you temporary stopping points between larger jumps and lets you change direction before continuing.

The official mobile description emphasizes flipping, jumping and sticking as the three central movement ideas.

Sausage Flip Levels

Sausage Flip uses short individual stages rather than an endless-runner structure.

Each level asks you to cross a different collection of obstacles and reach the end. Because retries are quick, learning the correct launch angle becomes part of the normal progression.

For another physics-focused game where short attempts help you learn movement, Get On Top uses balance and local competition instead of obstacle launching.

Sausage Flip Skins

More cosmetic options become available as you keep playing.

The current browser edition mentions multiple skins and costumes that can change the appearance of the sausage without altering the basic launch mechanic.

That gives repeated level completion a light customization reward alongside simply reaching later stages.

Sausage Flip Strategy

Do not automatically use maximum power.

Long launches are useful when the next surface is far away, but smaller movements are easier to control around spinning objects and narrow platforms.

It also helps to wait until moving obstacles reach a predictable position before launching. Since there is no complicated control sequence, most improvement comes from reading the environment before releasing.

Who Created Sausage Flip?

Sausage Flip was created by Madbox.

The same developer is associated with several popular casual and skill games, including Stickman Hook, Parkour Race and Idle Ants.

App And Platforms

The browser edition supports:

The official Google Play version is available for Android and currently lists more than 10 million downloads.

Apple also offers an official Sausage Flip edition for iPhone and iPad.

Games Like Sausage Flip

The closest related Madbox titles are games built around simple controls and physics-driven movement.

Stickman Hook uses swinging instead of launching, while Parkour Race focuses on quick platform movement and short competitive courses.

For another colourful browser game built around compact levels, Blumgi Paintball replaces physics launching with platform-based competition.

About This Game

Sausage Flip works best for players who enjoy games where one simple control produces many different outcomes.

Its strongest feature is the combination of aiming and floppy physics. You only drag and release, but obstacle movement, launch power and landing angle make each attempt feel slightly different.
