Graffiti Time
Graffiti Time is a stealth platform game where you guide Mr. Fat Cap, create colourful tags, avoid patrol robots, find keys, ride a skateboard and reach each level’s spray-can exit.
Graffiti Time is a 2D stealth platform game where you control Mr. Fat Cap, move through city streets, create colourful graffiti, avoid patrol robots and security officers, find the key and reach the spray-can exit. The newer version adds freehand tagging, stickers, double-jump movement and skateboard sections, giving the game more variety than a basic run-and-jump platformer.
The biggest mistake is treating every stage like a race. Painting quickly is useful, but getting spotted can ruin a good run. It usually makes more sense to watch the patrol route first, finish nearby tags, collect the key and then move toward the exit while the path is clear.

Kongregate records the original browser game as released on November 26, 2013, while Armor Games published its version in January 2014. The current Poki listing dates its modern edition to January 2023.
Start by Reading the Patrol Route
Graffiti Time mixes platform movement with light stealth.
Your first instinct may be to start painting immediately, but some areas are watched by robots or security characters. Moving into their path at the wrong time can end an otherwise clean attempt.
A better order is:
watch the patrol
identify the tagging area
move in when the route opens
finish the graffiti
leave before the patrol returns
That small pause makes later levels much easier to manage.
Graffiti Time Controls
The modern browser version uses:
WASD or Arrow Keys: Move
W or Up Arrow: Jump and gain height
Hold C: Paint graffiti
The current Poki page confirms the same keyboard layout and states that the game also works on phones and tablets.
The MDN KeyboardEvent documentation explains how browser games can respond to individual keyboard inputs such as WASD and arrow keys.
The controls look basic, but movement timing matters once patrols, higher platforms and narrow routes begin appearing together.
Freehand Tagging
Graffiti is not only a background theme.
The modern version lets you enter a freehand tagging mode at certain surfaces and create your own marks.
This makes the painting sections more interactive than simply walking toward an object and triggering one fixed animation. The official mobile listing specifically mentions freehand tags and hidden tagging surfaces as major features.
The important thing is knowing when you have enough time to paint.
Starting a tag while a robot is already approaching can leave you trapped in a poor position.
Mr. Fat Cap
The main character is Mr. Fat Cap, a graffiti artist who travels through different locations leaving colourful artwork behind.
The newer game’s description expands the character beyond the simple city-painter setup of the original 2013 release.
You move him through platform stages, paint marked objects, use special movement abilities and eventually reach the exit after meeting the level requirements.
Find the Key Before Leaving
Completing the artwork is only part of a level.
You also need to find a key before reaching the spray-can exit.
The original Graffiti Time already used this structure. Armor Games described the goal as painting around the city, picking up the golden key and then entering the spray-can rocket to continue.
This creates two things to keep track of:
what still needs painting
where the key and exit are located
Missing the key can force unnecessary backtracking through areas you already passed safely.
Double Jump and Higher Areas
The modern version gives Mr. Fat Cap more vertical movement than the original browser release.
Holding or repeatedly using the upward movement lets you reach higher areas, making it easier to get over obstacles or reach hidden tagging locations.
Do not use extra height automatically.
A high jump can carry you directly into another patrol route if you have not checked what is above the current platform.
Use it when the next landing point is clear.
Hidden Tagging Spots
Some graffiti surfaces are easy to miss.
This encourages you to check platforms and side areas rather than following the most obvious path through every stage.
The official mobile description specifically mentions finding hidden tag surfaces.
That makes Graffiti Time partly an observation game.
Fast movement helps once you know a level, but careful movement is more useful the first time through.
For another platform game where reading the environment matters, Eugene’s Life uses physics puzzles and unusual character movement rather than stealth.
Robots and Security Patrols
The patrol characters create most of the pressure.
They turn otherwise simple platform sections into timing challenges because you need to think about where an enemy will be a few seconds later, not just where it is right now.
A useful habit is to watch one complete patrol cycle before moving into a difficult section.
You can then judge:
how far the robot travels
when it turns around
which platform gives you cover
how much time you have to paint
Rushing usually makes these sections harder than they need to be.
Skateboard Sections
The newer Graffiti Time also gives Mr. Fat Cap a mini cruiser skateboard.
You can use it for faster movement and perform kickflips to earn extra money. The mobile edition also lists a dedicated skateboarding race mode among its features.
These sections change the pace because keeping momentum becomes more important.
The best route is not always the one with the most tricks. A successful landing is usually worth more than attempting an awkward kickflip in a section where you already have little space.
Money and New Graffiti Tags
Money earned during gameplay can be used toward additional graffiti-related content.
That gives optional movement and skateboard actions more purpose beyond simply finishing the stage.
The progression is mostly cosmetic rather than a traditional character-stat system.
You are improving what Mr. Fat Cap can create and use visually rather than turning him into a stronger fighter.
Custom Stickers
The modern version also includes stickers that can be placed on different city objects.
Poki lists cars, benches and trash containers among the surfaces that can be decorated.
This fits the game’s main idea because the environment is not only something you pass through.
Many objects are there specifically to be changed by the player.
A Safer Route Through Difficult Levels
When a stage starts becoming difficult, separating the objectives helps.
First, check where the patrols move.
Second, locate nearby graffiti targets.
Third, tag the safest ones.
Then look for the key.
Only after that should you make the final run toward the exit.
Trying to paint, collect, jump and escape at the same time makes the stage feel much more chaotic.
Players who prefer fast platform movement without the stealth element can try Dreadhead Parkour, which focuses on jumps, slides and obstacle timing.
Graffiti Time on Mobile
Graffiti Time currently supports desktop, phone and tablet play through its modern browser version.
There is also a dedicated iPhone and iPad edition titled Graffiti Time Tag Creator Game.
Apple currently identifies Maksim Eliseenko as its developer. The App Store version history shows the mobile game receiving additional updates through December 29, 2025.
The Apple App Store listing is useful if you need to verify current iPhone and iPad compatibility rather than relying on an old browser-game page.
Browser and Touch Controls
Desktop players mainly use keyboard input, while phones and tablets use on-screen controls.
The W3C Pointer Events specification explains how modern web experiences can support different pointing methods, including mouse and touchscreen input.
This matters in Graffiti Time because the same basic platform mechanics need to remain usable across very different devices.
Who Created Graffiti Time?
The original game is associated with Mini Duck Games, also shown historically as miniduckstudio.
Kongregate published the 2013 version under miniduckstudio, while the current Poki description says Graffiti Time was created by Mini Duck Games.
The current Poki developer field identifies IP Eliseenko Maksim Andreevich, and Apple’s mobile listing identifies MAKSIM ELISEENKO as the developer.
The most accurate way to describe the history is therefore:
Original creator: Mini Duck Games
Current credited publisher/developer: Maksim Eliseenko
Original Graffiti Time vs Modern Version
The original 2013 game was simpler.
It focused on moving through the city, painting cars, avoiding police, collecting the golden key and reaching the spray-can exit. Its original controls also used Space for painting.
The newer edition expands that formula with features such as:
freehand tagging
stickers
double-jump movement
hidden surfaces
skateboarding
kickflips
additional mini-games
mobile support
This distinction matters because older pages can describe controls or mechanics that no longer match the modern browser edition.
Graffiti Time Release History
Graffiti Time has been around considerably longer than its modern Poki date suggests.
November 26, 2013: Kongregate records the original release.
January 8, 2014: Armor Games published its version.
January 2023: Poki lists the current browser edition under its modern release metadata.
December 29, 2025: Apple’s version history shows the latest mobile update I could independently verify.
Poki currently displays November 2022 as its latest-update field even though the same page lists a January 2023 release. Because those dates conflict, I would not present November 2022 as the definitive latest Graffiti Time update.
Current Graffiti Time Rating
The current Poki listing shows approximately:
Rating: 4.5 out of 5
Votes: 32,000+
These figures can change as more users rate the game.
Is Graffiti Time Multiplayer?
Graffiti Time is a single-player platform game.
The current browser and mobile descriptions focus on one player controlling Mr. Fat Cap through the campaign.
There is no verified live online multiplayer mode in the current version.
If you want a colourful game where paint becomes part of competitive multiplayer, Blumgi Paintball uses paint to control territory rather than decorate objects.

Its main identity is still platform gameplay, but the tagging and stealth systems give it more variety than a standard side-scrolling platform game.
What Makes Graffiti Time Different?
Graffiti Time combines several simple ideas that work together.
You have to move through platform levels.
You need to avoid patrols.
You have surfaces to tag.
A key needs to be collected.
The spray-can exit finishes the level.
Then the newer version adds freehand artwork, stickers, hidden surfaces and skateboarding on top.
The result is less about reaching the end as quickly as possible and more about completing your work without letting the patrols interrupt the route.
About Graffiti Time
Graffiti Time turns a familiar 2D platform structure into a mix of movement, light stealth and creative tagging.
Mr. Fat Cap can run, jump, gain extra height, paint selected objects, create freehand tags and use a skateboard while moving through levels guarded by robots and security characters.
Its long history is also worth noting. The basic game dates back to 2013, but newer editions have expanded the original idea considerably. That explains why old Graffiti Time guides can look different from the version available in modern browsers today.
