What You Do In The Open Desert

There is one large map: a wide desert with a harbor, plus three different starting locations. You spawn in a car and go wherever you like. A short tap of Space swings the back end around on sharp bends. Hold it too long and you spin.

If you flip or get stuck on a ledge, press R to put the car back on its wheels. It is faster than trying to wriggle free.

There is no official race track, so agree with the other driver on the start, the finish and whether shortcuts through the sand count. Clear rules make the race fair and save arguments at the line.

Picking And Painting Your Car

The garage has many prebuilt car models, and you can change their colors. Fast cars are easy to lose control of at full speed, so try a few before you race. A car that grips well often beats a faster car that slides off every corner.

Changing the camera with C also helps when you are learning a new car. A view from behind the car makes it easier to judge corners, while a closer view feels faster but hides more of the road. Switching the speed display with U to the unit you know best makes it easier to judge how fast you are taking each bend.
