Freeware Lovers (Mobile)

Freeware Lovers is a website that describes itself as a one-stop repository of free software and games for popular mobile platforms. It is a directory with an Android section first in its menu, and it also covers older platforms such as Symbian and Palm OS.

Freeware Lovers Keeps Five Phone Platforms Under One Roof

The navigation has separate sections for Android, BlackBerry, Palm OS, Symbian and Windows Mobile, with Android placed first. Software is sorted into categories such as Games, Productivity, Communications and Entertainment. The front page shows a New Freeware list with recent additions like Hotspot Shield and Boxy Pocket, so it can be used to see what has been added lately. Registration and login are available for members.

The homepage also links to browse pages for applications and for devices, plus a search box and an Advertise page, which suggests the site supports itself with ads.

The Device Lists Show How Old This Directory Is

Besides software, the site lists phones, and the New Devices list on the homepage names models such as the Motorola MPx200 and the HTC Canary. Those are very old handsets, which fits a copyright line that begins in 2009. The mix of old devices and a 2026 date suggests a site that has grown over many years. It also means some of its listings may point to apps that no longer work on a current phone.

• Five mobile platforms covered
• Copyright range 2009 to 2026
• Three homepage lists, New Freeware, New Devices and New Users

The site also has a New Users list with member profiles, which shows it has a community side where people can sign up and add or review software.

Check That A Listing Still Works On Your Phone

An old directory can list software that was made for Android versions from many years ago. Before installing anything, find the app on Google Play and see whether it is still maintained and compatible with your version of Android. If the only copy is on the directory, check the date and be wary of apps that ask for modern permissions they should not need, like access to all your files.

A sensible habit is to sort by date and skip anything that has not been updated for years. Old apps often lack security fixes, and some cannot be installed on a current version of Android at all.

Why Google Play Or The Developer Site Should Come First

The safest way to install apps is the official store, where the developer signs the file and your phone updates it. A directory is best used to discover apps, then you follow the link to the official listing. Avoid files described as mod, cracked or premium unlocked, because edited copies can carry malware and can get an account banned.

Because the About page was not read, treat the descriptions on this directory as the site’s own words and not as verified facts.
