Vector Browser Version Online

Vector is a parkour running game by Nekki where you jump, slide and perform tricks across rooftops while a security hunter chases you through every level.

Description

In Vector Browser Version Online you play a free runner breaking out of a grey, controlled city, and a security hunter is right behind you the whole way. The game runs on its own, so your job is to time jumps, slides and climbs as walls, gaps and crates come at you. Stylish parkour moves are the heart of Vector, and the smooth motion captured animation still looks great years later. What makes it hard is that one late jump means the hunter tackles you and the level starts over.

How A Vector Level Plays Out

Each level is a side view of rooftops, offices and industrial zones. Your runner moves to the right automatically and speeds up as he goes. Obstacles come in a steady rhythm, low walls to vault, gaps to jump, pipes to slide under and tall walls to climb.

Just behind you runs the hunter, a security agent who follows the same path. Any mistake that slows you down, like hitting a wall or missing a ledge, lets him close the gap. Keeping your speed is what keeps you alive.

Controls For Browser And Phone

The game uses only a few inputs, which makes it easy to learn and hard to master:

  • Up Arrow or Swipe Up: jump, vault or climb
  • Down Arrow or Swipe Down: slide under obstacles or roll on landing
  • Trick Input In Highlighted Zones: press the jump or slide input inside a marked trick area to perform a parkour trick

Some browser versions show their key layout before the level starts. Check there if your keys feel different.

How Tricks And Bonuses Work

Parts of a level are marked as trick zones. If you press the input while inside one, your runner does a flip, wall spin or other stunt that earns extra points. Tricks are collected and unlocked as you progress, and buying or finding new ones gives you a bigger move set.

Levels also hide bonus items, some on high routes and some on low ones. Picking them up raises your score and adds to your star rating for the level.

Stars And Replay Value

Every level gives a rating based on how much you collected and how many tricks you landed. Getting a full rating usually means replaying a level once you know the layout, which is where most of the long-term play comes from.

Tips For Escaping The Hunter

  • Learn the rhythm, not the visuals. Levels repeat patterns, and listening to the run cycle helps you time the next jump.
  • Do not jump early at gaps. Your runner needs to reach the edge or he drops short.
  • Roll after high drops. A landing roll keeps your speed, a stiff landing slows you down.
  • Only go for tricks when you are safely ahead. A trick takes a moment, and the hunter closes in during it.
  • Replay early levels for bonuses once you have new tricks, it is the easiest way to raise your rating.

Who Made Vector

Vector was created by Nekki, the studio later known for the Shadow Fight series. It was released in 2012 and became a hit on phones and on web game sites thanks to its fluid animation. Nekki followed it with Vector 2, which added gear and more upgrades, as Droid Gamers reported at the sequel’s Android launch. On iOS the first game is now listed as Vector Classic.

Playing Vector In A Browser

Web game sites have hosted Vector for years, and today’s browser versions run on HTML5 with no plugin. That means the game opens in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari and runs on Chromebooks. Older Flash copies of web games stopped working when Flash support ended on December 31, 2020, so if a page asks you to install a plugin, find a different version.

  • No download is needed for the browser version.
  • Unlocked tricks and ratings are stored in your browser, so clearing site data resets them.
  • Use a keyboard for the best timing. A laptop touchpad is not needed at all.
  • On school or work devices, play only where your network rules allow games.

Browser Version Or The App

The browser version is quick to start and good for a few levels at a time. The official Android app from Nekki gives you the full set of levels, swipe controls designed for touch, and saves progress on your device. If you want to finish the whole game, the app is the more complete option.

Getting Smooth Performance

Vector is light, but timing matters, so even small stutters can make you miss a jump. Close extra tabs, keep hardware acceleration on in your browser settings and play in full screen if the game offers a button for it.
