About Rayman Fiesta Run
Rayman runs through food-themed worlds in Ubisoft's 2013 sequel to Jungle Run, no longer on Play.
Ubisoft gave this sequel to Ubisoft Casablanca rather than Pastagames, and the Moroccan studio leaned into color and food. Rayman Fiesta Run came out in early November 2013 on iOS and Google Play, again at $2.99 on Android, with more than 75 levels spread across four festive worlds and new boss fights. It keeps the hand-drawn look of Rayman Origins and Legends but swaps jungle greenery for chili peppers, tacos and cake.
What Is Rayman Fiesta Run
Like Jungle Run, it is a hand-made platformer where Rayman moves forward automatically and you control the jumping, gliding, wall running and punching. Each level has 100 Lums placed along the ideal route. The world map is a set of islands holding one to four levels each, and the themes borrow from the Gourmand Land levels of Rayman Origins and the Fiesta de los Muertos world of Rayman Legends, with music in the same playful style.
Invaded Levels Make Rayman Fiesta Run Twice As Long
The biggest change from Jungle Run is the Invaded system, which turns every finished level into a much harder remix. Collect all 100 Lums in a normal stage and its Invaded twin opens, packed with enemies and traps, where the goal shifts to grabbing as many Lums as possible before the end. Livid Dead and Candy Land shooter stages do not get Invaded versions. For players who perfected the normal route, Invaded levels add a second layer of practice without new art.
Gadgets, Shop And Candy Land
Fiesta Run adds a shop where Lums buy characters, costumes and gallery art. Gadgets can be bought before a level or unlocked permanently:
- Magnet, which pulls nearby Lums toward Rayman
- Phoenix, which brings you back after one hit
- Golden Heart, which protects you through a mistake
- Too Much Help and Ultimate Flying Punch for tougher spots
Lums could also be bought with real money, which drew criticism in a game that already cost $2.99. Candy Land, a later bonus world, costs 5,000 Lums and adds 16 levels including side-scrolling shooter stages, while the Land of the Livid Dead holds four very hard bonus levels.
How Fiesta Run Was Received
Critics generally rated it a step up from Jungle Run thanks to its bosses, variety and longer campaign. The in-app purchases were the main complaint, along with Invaded levels that some players felt were tuned around buying gadgets. It also had a Windows and Windows Phone release, though fans on RaymanPC note that those versions lack content added on iOS.
Is Rayman Fiesta Run Still On Google Play?
No. Ubisoft removed it from the App Store around the end of 2019, after an iOS update caused crashes, and its Google Play listing is gone as well. Nothing official explains the Android removal. Ubisoft did bring Fiesta Run back on PC through Ubisoft Connect in December 2022, and that version even runs on older systems such as Windows 7. On Android, existing installs may still work, but the old build was never updated for 64-bit-only phones, so many new devices cannot run it.
Who Will Enjoy It Most
If Jungle Run’s short campaign left you wanting more, Fiesta Run is the fuller game, with roughly twice as many stages once Invaded levels are counted. Newcomers can play it without the first game, since there is no story to follow and the controls are taught in the opening island.
