Wordle Unlimited Free Web Archive

Unlimited and archive versions of Wordle let you keep guessing after the daily puzzle. Find a hidden five letter word in six tries using green, yellow and grey clues.

Description

Six guesses, five letters and a row of coloured tiles: Wordle Unlimited Free Web Archive is for anyone who finishes the daily Wordle and wants another round straight away. The game is based on Wordle, the word puzzle created by Josh Wardle and now run by The New York Times. You type a five letter word, the tiles show which letters are right, misplaced or missing, and you use those clues to find the hidden word. The challenge is using every clue well, because six tries go faster than you expect.

How The Coloured Tiles Tell You What To Do

After you submit a guess, each letter tile changes colour. Green means the letter is in the word and in the right spot. Yellow means the letter is in the word but somewhere else. Grey means the letter is not in the word at all. Your next guess should use what you just learned, keeping greens in place, moving yellows and dropping greys.

Every guess must be a real word from the game’s list, so you cannot type random letters to test them. Words can repeat letters, which catches many players out. A yellow letter only promises the letter appears, not how many times.

Hard Mode And What It Changes

Hard mode forces you to use every revealed hint in later guesses. If you found a green A in the second spot, every next guess must have A in that spot. It removes the trick of using a throwaway word to test new letters, which makes each guess count more.

Controls On Keyboard And Touch

  • Letter Keys: type your guess, one letter per tile
  • Enter: submit the five letter word
  • Backspace: delete the last letter
  • On-Screen Keyboard: tap letters on phones; it also colours letters you have already tried

Guessing Tips That Save Tries

  • Start with a word full of common letters, such as one with A, E, R, S and T.
  • Use your second guess to test five new letters if the first gave little information.
  • Watch the on-screen keyboard. Grey keys are out, so do not waste a guess on them.
  • Think about repeated letters when you are stuck on two or three possible words.
  • Count the options before guessing. If four words fit, pick a guess that splits them instead of trying them one by one.

What Unlimited And Archive Versions Really Are

The official New York Times Wordle gives you one puzzle per day, the same word for everyone. Wordle Unlimited sites are fan-made versions that let you play as many rounds as you like, often with options for words of different lengths. Archive sites let you replay older puzzles you missed. These are not made or approved by The New York Times, so word lists and rules can differ a little from the real daily game.

They run in the browser with no download, so they work on Chromebooks and school laptops. Follow your school or work network rules about games. Your streak and statistics on these sites are usually saved in browser storage, so clearing site data or switching devices resets them.

Who Created Wordle

Wordle was created by software engineer Josh Wardle, who first made it as a game for his partner and released it to the public in October 2021. Its simple share grid of coloured squares spread quickly on social media. The New York Times bought Wordle in January 2022, and in August 2022 it was added to the newspaper’s games app on Android and iOS. You can play the daily puzzle on the official New York Times Wordle page and read its history on the Wordle Wikipedia page.

Playing Wordle On Android

The official way to play Wordle on Android is the NYT Games app from The New York Times, which carries Wordle alongside other word and logic puzzles like the Mini Crossword. It keeps your stats linked to your account, so your streak follows you across devices.

Why Sharing The Coloured Grid Became A Habit

When you finish a Wordle, the game lets you copy a grid of green, yellow and grey squares that shows how your guesses went without giving away the word. That small idea is a big reason the game spread so fast. Friends could compare results without spoiling the answer for anyone who had not played yet.

Many players still share their grids in group chats every day. Unlimited versions are good for practice, but the shared daily word is what keeps the social side alive.
