About Wild Blood
Sir Lancelot battles a corrupted King Arthur in Gameloft's Unreal-powered 2012 brawler
Sir Lancelot is the hero of Wild Blood, a fantasy brawler Gameloft built on Unreal Engine 3 and released on Google Play in October 2012 for $6.99. Android Central had covered its reveal that summer as an Unreal-powered Gameloft game, and Pocket Gamer noted that the roughly 700MB download needed about 2GB of free space to install. Wild Blood is no longer sold on Google Play, and its package was com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftWBHM.
What Is Wild Blood
The story twists Arthurian legend. The sorceress Morgana has corrupted King Arthur and released demons and monsters, and Lancelot sets out to rescue Queen Guinevere, fighting Arthur himself along the way. Reviewers compared the hack-and-slash combat to God of War, with heavy weapon swings, combos and large bosses.
Ten Levels, Twenty Enemy Types And Big Boss Fights
The campaign spans ten levels with around 20 enemy types and a series of boss battles. Lancelot collects a range of weapons as he progresses, and Unreal Engine 3 let Gameloft push lighting and detail further than most Android games of 2012. Wild Blood showed how far Gameloft could push Unreal Engine 3 on Android phones of 2012, at the cost of a very large install. The trade-off was size, since that 2GB install requirement was steep for phones of the time.
Wild Blood Had Eight-Player Online Battles
Multiplayer was a real feature, not an afterthought. Up to eight players could fight online in team deathmatch or capture the flag, and local multiplayer was supported too. Gameloft also optimized the game for the Xperia Play, so owners of Sony’s gamepad phone got physical button controls instead of virtual ones.
Wild Blood Sales Put It In Many Libraries
Gameloft discounted Wild Blood heavily during its time on Google Play, including a Christmas sale at 89 cents reported by Xataka Android and a later weekly deal at 0.10 euros. Those offers meant plenty of players picked it up for far less than the launch price of $6.99.
What Wild Blood Asked Of 2012 Phones
Storage was the first hurdle. The download came to roughly 700MB, but installation needed around 2GB of free space, which ruled out many phones with small internal memory at the time. Like other Gameloft HD releases of the period, most of the game arrived as separate data files after the store install, so a stable Wi-Fi connection mattered. Pocket Gamer’s update on launch day also confirmed that the Xperia Play version was fully optimized, which gave Sony’s gamepad phone one of its better-looking action games.
Can Wild Blood Still Run On Android Today?
Not from Google Play, where it is no longer sold. Unreal Engine 3 games from 2012 were built for the GPUs and Android versions of their time, and an old copy may fail on current phones, especially those that only run 64-bit apps. No official remaster exists, and we do not recommend modded or mirrored APKs. Players who enjoyed its hack-and-slash style will find actively supported action games on Google Play a more reliable option.
Looking back, Wild Blood sits in the short window when Gameloft sold premium console-style games on Android at a fixed price. Gameloft’s major releases soon shifted toward free-to-play, as Gangstar Vegas did in 2014, so Lancelot’s adventure belongs to a short era of fixed-price console-style games from the studio.
