How The Balls, Pins And Cup Work

Every level is a physics problem. Balls roll and fall under gravity, and the pins act as gates. When you pull a pin, whatever was resting on it drops into the next chamber.

The key rule is colour. Grey balls are not allowed in the cup on their own. They only become coloured when a coloured ball touches them. So most levels are really about one question: how do you get the coloured balls to fall onto the grey ones before anything reaches the cup?

Later levels add extra trouble, like hazards that ruin the balls or chambers that tip balls toward the wrong exit. The pin order you choose decides which path each group of balls takes.

Tips For Picking The Right Pin First

Trace Every Ball Before You Touch Anything

Look at each chamber and ask where its balls would go if the pin under it vanished. Follow the path down to the cup. If grey balls would reach the cup before coloured ones meet them, that pin is not your first move.

Move Coloured Balls Above The Grey Ones

The easiest way to colour a group is to drop coloured balls straight onto it. Often the first pin you pull simply moves the coloured group into the chamber above the grey balls. Only then do you open the path to the cup.

Use Empty Chambers As Waiting Rooms

Some layouts have a side pocket that seems useless. It is usually a parking spot. Drop a group of balls there, deal with the rest, then release them later.

Watch For Pins That Hold Two Things

A long pin can block two chambers at once. Pulling it releases both groups together, which can be exactly what you need or a disaster. Check both ends of a pin before you pull it.

Levels And How The Difficulty Grows

The first levels use two or three pins and teach the colour rule. After that the layouts get taller, with more pins, angled walls and several groups of balls that must arrive in a set order. Many pin puzzles also mix in hazard levels where one wrong pull ends the attempt straight away.

Because each level is a fixed puzzle with a correct order, a fail is never random. If a level beats you, restart, change your first pull and watch what happens differently.
